| Description | The Catholic Schools Office within the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is seeking a temporary part time (3 days per week) Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant provides support and administrative assistance to the Senior Education Officer (Student Support) and team members of the Student Support Unit. |

| Position Requirements | This role requires the successful applicant to: • have excellent typing skills (minimum speed of 50 wpm) • attend and respond to telephone and email enquiries • monitor and maintain electronic team maps and student databases • organise team meeting schedules and documentation (Agenda, Minutes) • manage student referrals, files, and records • manage ordering and cataloguing of resources for Student Support Unit • provide direct secretarial support to the Student Support Unit as required • undertake other duties as requested by the Senior Education Officer (Student Support) or the Head of Teaching & Learning Services The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, preventing those in our care from suffering abuse or neglect. | Essential Criteria | The successful applicant will: • have advanced computer skills (all Microsoft Office programs) • have excellent communication and interpersonal skills • demonstrate initiative, and be self-motivated have the ability to organise workload, meet deadlines, work independently and monitor own performance • have a high degree of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive matters in a professional manner • maintain a high level of confidentiality • have the demonstrated ability to work as an effective and collaborative member of a team • work effectively and collaboratively with all members of the Teams within Teaching & Learning Services • ensure high level communication with the Senior Education Officer (Student Support) • assist schools to manage information related to their allocated funds • assist with implementation of Student Support policies, procedures, and guidelines The applicant must provide evidence of the following: • Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number |

The Catholic Schools Office (CSO), is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of systemic schools which educate more than 18,000 students in 45 Primary schools, 10 Secondary schools and one K-12 school in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
