If so, The Halley Academy is now recruiting for a part-time Administrator to join from September  2024, to support the Head of School and Deputy Head of School, to carry out all work relating to The Halley Academy administration needs and procedures to maximise the learning experiences of students at the school. 

This is a truly fantastic opportunity for a passionate administrator to become part of a well-established, highly collaborative and successful small school team that works hard to ensure that students receive the highest quality pastoral care so that they can have a successful and enjoyable experience of education. 

Central to the high-quality pastoral care that we provide at the Academy is our Small School Model. Each of our Small Schools has an administrator who not only plays an integral role in the smooth operation of that particular Small School, but also supports the Head of School in their whole-school responsibilities. 

The whole-school responsibility linked to this post is Teaching and Learning, including the booking and arranging of staff CPD and educational visits,  printing and preparing feedback stickers, Google Classroom audits, and administrating student Chromebook devices.

Previous experience of a role in an educational setting is desirable. The successful candidate will have to meet the person specification to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

We’d like to hear from you if you:

• Have experience in managing a large workload, multiple complex tasks and responding to changing priorities with a proven ability to meet required deadlines.
• Have had experience as an administrator.
• Have experience of handling sensitive and confidential information. 
• Have experience in using up-to-date Information and Communication Technology systems such as Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of BromCom (this is desirable, but not essential).
• Are willing to be flexible in the tasks undertaken.

This is a permanent, part-time position working Thursday and Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, term time + 1 week inset and offers an actual salary of £11,007 per annum, (£31,569 full-time equivalent). Working with us at The Halley Academy: The Halley Academy has a long and illustrious heritage being the first purpose-built comprehensive in the UK in the 1950s.
