We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Administrator to join our dynamic team at Edgar Wood Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in our school community by providing essential administrative support and contributing to the smooth running of the school office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors and manage telephone and face-to-face inquiries.
- Provide administrative support including typing, filing, and managing correspondence.
- Ensure the security and safeguarding of the school by managing visitor access and completing necessary procedures.
- Maintain and update student and staff records, including communication through newsletters, social media, and the school website.
- Assist in the administration of school events, trips, and other activities.
- Support student welfare and first aid duties.
- Ensure that all data is handled confidentially and in accordance with data protection guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong organisational and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- A professional attitude and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external visitors.
- Experience in an administrative role, ideally in a school or educational setting.
- A proactive approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a school environment or working with children.
- Familiarity with school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor).
- First Aid qualification or the willingness to undertake training.
