Job overview

Admissions Coordinator (0.6)

23 hours per week, all year round.

We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Admissions Coordinator to join Leighton Park School, a role that puts you at the heart of the admissions process, where you will work with International Education Consultants as well as directly with parents and guardians, welcoming prospective families, guiding them through every step, and helping them experience the warmth and values that make our School unique.

Reporting to the Registrar and working closely with colleagues across Admissions and Marketing, you will be a key ambassador for the School. You will build positive, trusting relationships with parents, students and agents, ensuring that every interaction reflects Leighton Park’s ethos and approach.

This is a busy, hands-on role combining excellent customer service with strong administrative skills. You will manage applications from enquiry to enrolment, maintain accurate records across admissions systems and support compliance with UK Visas & Immigration requirements, while continually seeking ways to enhance the experience of prospective families.

Working collaboratively across the School, you will help ensure a smooth and supportive transition for new joiners and play an important role in sustaining Leighton Park’s vibrant, diverse and inclusive student body.

Set in over sixty acres of beautiful parkland near the heart of Reading, Leighton Park School offers a distinctive educational experience rooted in Quaker values. We aim to inspire achievement with values, character and community, supporting students to fulfil their academic and personal potential and to become purposeful adults. We seek to appoint colleagues who will contribute positively to, and thrive within, our warm, inclusive and forward-thinking community.

Leighton Park offers a supportive and professional working environment with excellent terms, conditions and benefits. We are proud to be a Living Wage Employer and committed to equity, diversity and inclusion across our staff body.

To apply, please complete the attached application form, or complete the online form on our recruitment website, and email it to apply@leightonpark.com. If you require further information, please call HR on 0118 987 9600.

Applications will be reviewed, and interviews held, on a rolling basis; therefore, we encourage you to apply at your earliest convenience.

Developing kind and compassionate leaders for the future is an important part of how we give our Quaker values currency and purpose. Leighton Park seeks to be a leading school which delights in being diverse, open-minded and with a culture of equitable inclusion. For this reason, we warmly welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Leighton Park School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, therefore the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of our recruitment process.

Leighton Park School is a successful, forward looking independent (HMC) day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 11-18 set in 65 acres of magnificent parkland.

Leighton Park exists to form young people of real character and confidence, with a determined desire to change the world, reflecting the school’s Quaker values. In 2023 we won Senior School of the Year in the national Independent Schools Association Awards. We were also a finalist in the Independent Senior School of the Year in the TES Schools Awards 2023.

We are a school that inspires Achievement with Values, Character and Community and academic excellence is the consequence of our approach. Valuing breadth and depth, we are distinguished by excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), Music and Ethical Enterprise. The UK Government’s latest 16-18 league tables reveal Leighton Park to be the best performing School in Berkshire and in the top 1% of English schools. We are one of only eight schools to have always appeared in the top 100.

We challenge our students to imagine a better world. We then support them to develop the character, confidence and determination to be changemakers.
