We are seeking to appoint a Temporary Admissions Executive to assist with all matters relating to the administration and organisation of our application process through to entrance examinations, interviews, offers and acceptance  boarding and day pupils.  

Whitgift is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools for boys aged between 10 and 18 years, with approximately 1500 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils. It was founded in 1596 by Elizabeth I’s last Archbishop of Canterbury, John Whitgift, and is the oldest school in Croydon. Whitgift enjoys facilities of outstanding quality, amongst the best available nationally, in a beautiful parkland estate in South Croydon with excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.           

OUTLINE OF POST:

To assist with the smooth and efficient running of the Admissions process during the busy application processing and entrance examination period. Other related or general office duties may also be allocated by the Admissions Manager, to whom this post reports, and by the Director of Admissions.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Admissions Executive will assist with all matters relating to the administration and organisation of processing applications, answering the telephone and emails received in the Admissions Inbox. Also, to assist with the organisation of our entrance examination and interview procedures including:

o   Processing our online applications using the School Management System (iSAMS)

o   Running reports from our School Management System (iSAMS)

o   Filing all incoming papers on prospective boys

o   Assisting with preparation for examination days

o   Requesting Confidential References from current school

o   Assisting with the co-ordination of scholarship applications and assessment days

  • General duties, including filing, emailing, data entry and telephone enquiries
  • Full training will be provided.

The Admissions Assistant will work 5 days per week. The hours are 8am to 5pm (40 hours per week) with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. There will be an occasional requirement for flexibility with start and finishing times to meet the needs of the department or for school events throughout the year that may take place on occasional Saturdays. Any changes will be agreed in advance with your line manager.
