City of London Academy, Highgate Hill, opened as a mixed, all-ability, non-denominational academy in September 2017, and is housed in a lovely building with excellent facilities for students, staff and the community. We are seeking an Admissions Officer maternity cover to join us in January 2022. You will join our administrative team where you will be responsible for academy admissions including casual transfers and sixth form admissions. You will have experience as an Admissions Officer or similar and have working knowledge of sims. You should have strong organisational skills as you will organise open mornings/evenings, banding tests and tours for parents. You will also work as part of the front of house team on reception and duties include general administration, answering the telephone, ordering supplies and maintaining information management systems. It would be advantageous if you are first aid trained.
You will be expected to manage your own workload and prioritise work appropriately. Excellent communication skills both oral and written are an essential part of the role to be able to deal with staff, students, parents and external agencies.
Normal hours will be between 8.00am and 4.00pm. It is expected that you would be available to support certain meetings outside of these hours by agreement in advance for which time off in lieu will be accrued. There are also INSET training days and TWILIGHT evenings throughout the academic year which you are expected to attend. There is some Saturday working in October/November for banding tests and some evening work for open evening events.
