Job overview

We are seeking highly organised and experienced administrators to play key roles supporting the entry admissions process for senior school and sixth form pupils at St. Edward’s.

We have two positions available in the Admissions Department: with one Admissions Officer managing the 16+ (Year 12) and 14+ (Year 10) entry admissions process and another managing the 13+ (Year 9) entry admissions process.

The Admissions Department is the first point of contact for all pupils looking to join the School and as a result the role of Admissions Officer is customer-focused, fast-paced, busy all year round and no two days are the same.

You will manage the admissions process from initial enquiry to the enrolment of pupils, in addition to organising and managing events to showcase the school to prospective pupils.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Administering all aspects of admissions and maintaining accurate data on all pupils
  • Acting as a main point of contact for all enquiries
  • Drafting offer letters and maintaining accurate records of acceptances, rejections and waiting lists
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with feeder schools
  • Managing arrangements for entrance examinations
  • Representing the School at open days

To be considered for one of these roles, you will need previous experience in a senior administrative role, an excellent telephone manner and communication skills, as well as experience of working with databases. An eye for detail, the ability to work well as part of a team and a willingness to carry out a variety of tasks and to get involved in all aspects of school life is equally important.

In return, St. Edward’s can offer a variety of benefits including:

  • A friendly and inclusive working environment
  • Free meals
  • Free Nuffield Health Gym membership (including membership for your partner and children under the age of 21)
  • Free car parking
  • Defined contribution pension scheme with Scottish Widows. The standard employee contribution rate is 5% with the employer contributing 8%. Enhanced contributions by the employee will be matched by the employer, up to the cap of 12%
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee assistance programme

The closing date for applications is 20th February 2023.

St Edward’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we aim to create and maintain a safe environment for our pupils, where they feel respected and supported. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to become familiar with our policies and procedures for child protection and security.
