We are seeking to appoint a full-time Admissions Registrar to join our team based at Worth School. 

The Admissions Registrar is responsible for all aspects of the School’s admissions for day and boarding pupils at all entry points, from initial contact, through visits and assessments to the final entry, whilst also managing a busy and dynamic admissions team. 

The Registrar plays a key role at the School. A demanding but highly rewarding position, this is an exciting time at Worth with its increasing pupil rolls and ambitious plans. It offers the successful candidate the opportunity to help develop and redefine further the already highly successful Admissions at Worth.

As the Admissions Registrar, your responsibilities would include:

  • To work closely with the Deputy Head External and the Headmaster in ensuring successful pupil recruitment across all year groups
  • To liaise with feeder schools in support of the admissions process
  • To process admissions enquiries and to respond effectively and efficiently
  • To distribute assessment materials for prospective pupils as required
  • To organise and help manage pupil programmes for entrance examination days, scholarship interviews and assessments together with the Marketing department
  • To communicate decisions on admissions as necessary
  • To monitor the effectiveness of admissions policies and procedures
  • To provide guidance and advice to prospective parents and guardians on their child’s educational needs, including bursaries and scholarships 
  • To liaise with UK immigration agencies and ensure compliance with current immigration policies for overseas pupils, including the production of paperwork relating to pupil visas
  • To develop the strategic development of Admissions with the Deputy Head External
  • To lead and manage the work of the Admissions team, including regular appraisal meetings, and identifying and responding to personal training and development needs within the team

What we are looking for:

  • Proven outstanding administrative skills with extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and use of databases
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with proven tact and diplomacy in dealing with a range of people and personalities
  • The ability to manage sensitive issues and use discretion and utmost confidentiality at all times
  • An understanding of the concept of internal and external customer service and the importance of providing this
  • Experience of managing a small team (desirable)
  • Experience of a busy and often pressurised office environment, or previous experience working in a school (desirable)
