An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and self-motivated Adult Social Care Tutor/Assessor to join our Apprenticeships Team within our Lifestyle and Works department.

We are looking to recruit an experienced tutor /assessor who has a strong background in delivering the apprenticeship standards for apprentices in Adult Care.

Mencap are looking to deliver its own apprenticeship programme to Support Workers within the Personal Support teams. This role will lead on the development and delivery of Social Care Apprenticeships to new and existing Support Workers.

This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday mostly based in Somerset with travelling required in nearby areas occasionally.

This role is to deliver our Health and Social Care Apprenticeship programmes at Level 2 and 3, delivering a high quality programme that surpasses stakeholder expectations and strengthens knowledge, skills and behaviours across the sector.

The successful candidate will deliver all elements of teaching, learning and assessment to apprentices for successful entry to End Point Assessment, including accredited functional skills in both English and Mathematics. This role would suit a highly motivated and qualified tutor/assessor in Adult Social Care.


Key skills and requirements (essential): 

  • Assessor Award CAVA, A1, D32/33 or equivalent
  • Minimum Level 5 or in Adult Care Sector or willing to work towards it
  • Extensive experience of working in the Adult Care Sector
  • A-C/9-4 English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent) 
  • Delivered formal training within Adult care
  • Experienced in the delivery of Apprenticeships
  • Experience of delivering against targets
