Warlingham Village Primary School is offering an exciting opportunity in our new After School Club for somebody to be part of a team who will develop the new provision for our children. This role is varied and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to help create a positive experience for the children. 


The successful candidate will work as part of a team, to provide a safe and stimulating environment that encourages creative and imaginative play, participating in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, cooking and other indoor and outdoor games. We are looking for an experienced childcare practitioner, who will engage and inspire the children through extra-curricular activities whilst ensuring they are differentiated to be inclusive of all abilities and age and uphold the ethos and values of the school.


Working Hours: 15 hours (3.15 -6.15), 5 days a week, 38 weeks per year

Salary: FTE £16,497, Pro Rata £5,709

Start date: September 2019

Requirements

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has experience of working with children aged between 4 and 11 years; 
  • A proven ability to work on their own initative.
  • Can share our passion for providing positive play experiences that contribute towards children’s happiness and enjoyment;
  • Has a good knowledge and understanding of required policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, equal opportunities and confidentiality;
  • Possess a paediatric first aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Has a basic understanding of food hygiene or a willingness to obtain
  • Is qualified to NVQ level 2 is essential.

We are a one-form entry village primary school situated close to the centre of Warlingham Village, Surrey, a few miles to the south of Croydon. We have an average of 210 pupils on roll, housed in a traditional Edwardian building.
