STAR Club is the Prep School’s late stay club, S taying for T ea A nd R elaxing. This facility provides flexibility for busy families and runs on every normal school day.

The role of the Supervisor is to care for and supervise children aged 3-11 who are staying at school beyond the end of the normal school day. This will involve supervising their play, preparing food and ensuring every child is happy.

The supervisor will ensure that accurate registers are maintained throughout the session, signing children in and out as required. Demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children, the STAR Club Supervisor builds positive professional relationships with children in their care whilst ensuring that conduct and patterns of acceptable behaviour are maintained. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that any incidents are appropriately recorded and shared if required.

The role may on occasions involve supporting Prep School staff in activities outside of STAR Club.

Suitable applicants should have previous experience of working with Nursery and Primary aged children and hold a level 3 or equivalent relevant qualification.

Wellington School is a Church of England denominational, co-educational, day and boarding school in Somerset. As of the most recent inspection, there were 900 pupils on the school roll. The school’s motto is the opening of Psalm 127; ‘If God Be Not With Us, Our Labour is in Vain’. The Senior School teaches pupils between the ages of 11-18. The school also offers preparatory facilities from the ages of 3 onwards. Founded in 1837 as a boys school, Wellington has been fully independent and co-educational since 1978. The 35 acre site is a combination of traditional and more recent architecture. The school operates in both a boarding and day capacity.
