Job Title:         Ancillary Worker

Salary:            £18,964.40 per annum     

Location:       Hillingdon Manor School, Hillingdon, Uxbridge

Hours:              Monday – Friday 11am - 6pm

Contract:         Permanent

We are looking for an Ancillary Worker to join our fantastic team. 

The Hillingdon Manor Ancillary worker is to support and help facilitate a calm and resourced learning environment for students at Hillingdon Manor. The majority of your role during the school day would be providing domestic housekeeping duties around the school and highlighting hazards to the maintenance team for repair but you would also support through unstructured times, break and lunch, you will become a trained kitchen assistant to ensure that support can be given for provision in the garden café and will be trained to deliver first aid as well as being an active school fire marshal.

Person Specification:

To be able to undertake the duties in the job description, applicants should possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • A reasonable level of fitness
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
  • Able to manage time effectively
  • Ability to work both alone and in a team
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Reading skills for following instructions
  • Maths skills for measuring cleaning fluids
  • enjoyment of working with children and the ability to control and supervise them
  • patience
  • the ability to stay calm
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to work as part of a team
  • previous experience of first aid training (although training will be given)

At Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5 and 19. Located across two sites. Our Secondary School supports around 125 students. Our students are taught in smaller class sizes and all students work towards a variety of qualifications dependent on their needs and ability.
