About the role

At Sydney Catholic Schools we are looking for an Application Tester who will be responsible for planning for and executing a range of testing requirements to ensure the Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) PeopleSoft HR/Payroll system functionality is comprehensively tested prior to new and/or enhanced technical and functional elements are deployed to the Production environment to users.

Reporting directly to the Manager: PeopleSoft, this role is a permanent, full-time position currently located at our Central Office in World Square. This role is an additional role created within the team as a result of new projects and initiatives at SCS.

As a PeopleSoft Helpdesk Support/Tester, your main responsibilities will include:

• planning and executing test plans and phases such as:
  • System Integration Testing
  • User Acceptance Testing
  • End-to-End Testing
  • Regression Testing.
• completing and clearing test documentation
• working effectively with technical and functional team members to resolve system issues during testing phases
• appropriately managing the interests of multiple stakeholders and users pre and post testing phases
• providing ‘at the elbow’ User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support to business users
• contributing to training and communications planning for large project implementations

The Person 

• experience in test planning and execution 
• Tertiary qualifications in information systems and/or equivalent relevant industry experience
• sound test process knowledge and experience
• extensive test process knowledge and experience 
• high attention to detail in test execution, with a fine eye for identifying and reporting defects
• ability to analyse and translate business requirements and functional specifications into testing requirements
• helpdesk support experience 
• functional knowledge of PeopleSoft (advantageous) 
• ability to work effectivity in a team 
• strong problem solving/analytical thinking
• ability to deliver a high level of work quality whilst maintaining high level of productivity
• willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.
