King’s College London Mathematics School (KCLMS) is for highly motivated students aged 16-19 with a particular aptitude and enthusiasm for mathematics.

The school is seeking an enthusiastic Business Administration trainee to work with the Administration Manager. You will provide support to students, teachers and other non-teaching staff with administration responsibilities. This will include creating documents using Microsoft Office, filing and sending documents by email and post. You’ll need excellent communication skills as you will regularly answer the office phone and liaise with members for the public and staff regarding school-related enquiries. You’ll also need a good attention to detail to ensure your work is accurate. 

A summary of the main duties are:

● Provide support in the school reception

● Answer the telephone professionally and politely. Take messages accurately and ensure they are passed on to the right person.

● Liaise with members of the public and staff regarding school-related enquiries.

● Prepare and co-ordinate correspondence with applicants and support the outreach programme

● Set up rooms for events and support the co-ordination of events e.g. open days, training courses, entrance tests.

● Assist with supervision and co-ordination of internal and public examinations.

● Liaise with external maintenance contractors.

● Coordinate the ordering and control of stationery supplies.

● Help with the library, checking books out and preparing displays.

● Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school. 

● Appreciate and support the work of other professionals.

● Attend and participate in relevant meetings.

● Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development

● Compliance with all necessary policies and procedures relating to child protection, equality and diversity, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

● Work with colleagues to implement safe procedures around Covid 19, co-ordinate the provision of supplies around the school buildings.

This is an on-site, school based role. Apprenticeship training will be provided by Middleton Murray (Ofsted rated Good).
