We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice HR Administrator to join our fantastic central team at Prospere Learning Trust.

This is a fixed term appointment for 18 months, full time working 35 hours per week offering Grade 3 salary £25,583 per annum. You will be allocated weekly dedicated study time and work towards accreditation by achieving the apprenticeship standards, completing all required assignments and training. Aspiring to progress to a HR Administrator role within the team after successfully completing the Apprenticeship programme.

We’re looking for:
You will join the Trust central HR Team to provide excellent support to our schools, enabling us to recruit, develop and retain outstanding staff to provide exceptional education for all students.

This role is customer focused, with a particular emphasis on administration, supporting the whole employee life cycle you will be heavily involved in the recruitment and onboarding process, managing HR data and compliance. Previous experience working in a customer facing role or recruitment or HR setting is essential. The successful candidate will be based in our central support office in Wythenshawe, working closely with staff across our schools and the wider HR team.

What will you be doing as an apprentice?

As an Apprentice HR Administrator you will work under the direction of our HR Administration Manager and be responsible for a wide range of duties including:

  • Provide administrative support to HR colleagues and schools with key recruitment tasks including advertising vacancies, coordination of shortlisting packs etc.

  • Carry out a range of pre-employment checks to ensure candidates for interview are appropriately qualified and suitable for the role to support safer recruitment in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.

  • Create, maintain and update staff records ensuring accurate information is stored to support HR Officer and reporting.

  • Managing the HR inbox and making and receiving calls from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Developing knowledge of routine HR procedures in order to ensure all processes are compliant.

  • Operating relevant ICT systems including Arbor and Office 365.

  • Take appropriate responsibility and action for safeguarding, be aware of confidential issues and maintain as appropriate.

What training will the apprenticeship include and what qualification will you get at the end?
Full training will be provided for this role, we will support you to complete a Level 3 programme in HR Support: HR support / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Your course will include online learning, onsite assessment at work, tutorials and training activities within your role and the completion of a portfolio for assessment. You will be assigned a work-based tutor who will guide and support you to acquire and develop the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
We offer excellent opportunities for progression upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. At the end of the Fixed Term Appointment and upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there would be the opportunity to be appointed to a permanent post as an HR Administrator. As a Trust employee you will receive an effective induction into the team and will be supported by a mentor to complete an Apprenticeship. You will support the vision, values and objectives of the Trust and demonstrate a collaborative, team working approach to school and Trust improvement.

Teacher Training

The Trust offers outstanding primary and secondary routes into teaching with both mainstream and special schools.

Primary with SEND

Our Primary Education: Inclusion with SEND programme allows you the opportunity to train to teach in both mainstream and specialist settings. We work in partnership with the University of Cumbria and, upon successful completion, candidates are awarded a PGCE with qualified teacher status.

Secondary

We have four mainstream secondary schools dedicated to training teachers through the School Direct route. This is a school-led teacher training programme where you are attached to a Prospere Trust school from the very first day of your training. We work with the Manchester Teaching School Alliance and Manchester Metropolitan University to deliver this course.

Central Services

We ensure that our schools receive continuous consistent operational support through our recently centralised service teams. The Central MAT Team includes HR, Finance, Estates, IT and Catering. This multi-functional, dedicated and continually developing team works tirelessly to support the efficient and effective running of our schools, enabling staff at school level to focus on delivering exceptional education to all children and young people.

Network Groups

The Prospere Learning Trust believes in working collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes and life chances for students.
