The Team

The Business Centre department of the College consists of employer engagement, work experience, administration and apprenticeship delivery teams who work together closely to develop the employability and career progression of students, including apprenticeships.  Working in collaboration with employers to support the recruitment needs of the local business community.

The Role

To manage the Apprenticeship Delivery Team to consistently deliver high quality apprenticeship and other employer training programmes that meet the expectations of employers and apprentices and meet the College’s targets for recruitment, quality and performance.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

• Proven experience in leading, managing, motivating and building successful teams. 

• Ability to prioritise objectives and plan work within a work-based learning environment and manage an area in delivering high quality performance, including the ability to delegate ef-fectively.

• Experience of Internal Quality Assurance

• Experience of e-portfolio systems

• Experience of developing and/or managing projects

• Experience of Apprenticeship Standards and the delivery of all elements of the programme 

• Conversant with apprenticeship funding rules and interpretation of guidance

• Knowledge of key performance indicators for apprenticeship delivery

• Excellent interpersonal skills and particular ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of audiences both within, and critically, outside of the College

• Conversant in the use of PC’s and software packages particularly Microsoft Office

• Able to work autonomously and resolve problems in dynamic situations while working to deadlines

• English and maths qualifications at level 2 or above

• An understanding of the significance of equality of opportunity

Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.

Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
