We are specialist digital skills college supporting apprentices into fantastic roles in the tech sector and transforming their lives in the process. We work with over 35 of the most cutting-edge companies on the planet and have more contacting us every day because of the amazing quality of our teaching, learning and support.

We are growing rapidly with over 200 apprentices on roll at present across three higher level and degree programmes. The Level 4 Software Developer and Data Analyst apprenticeships are further enhanced with the delivery of a foundation degree alongside. We also deliver 3 pathways on the Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship; Software engineer, Data Analyst and Tech Consultant.

The Role:

At Ada we are committed to ensuring we support employers through the whole apprenticeship process, from recruitment to successful achievement.  We are looking for an Apprenticeship Recruitment Officer who will  actively engage with young people who want to embark on one our Higher Level or Degree Apprenticeships  and help us meet our ambitious plans for the future; raising our profile, highlighting success stories and supporting many more young people with a passion for tech to realise their potential.

You will have some knowledge of digital marketing strategies and a willingness to proactively engage with our  partner organisations and the individuals they want to appoint as apprentices. You will also lead on promoting the courses we offer either in person, at workshops or dedicated events, or via online presentations.

Within the role, the Apprenticeship Recruitment Officer will work with the Head of Apprenticeship Programmes and employers to identify needs and carry out the recruitment process from the initial consultation to successful induction.

Main Responsibilities:

Relationship management with existing partners

Advertise & utilise the College’s social media channels to pro-actively source suitable apprentices for each vacancy

Identifying skills to match appropriately with current vacancies

Conducting telephone screenings to determine the suitability for the roles

Interviewing apprentices face to face and briefing about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the job in question.

Manage successful apprentice inductions & initial assessments

Offering support and guidance to learners during their application process; including both successful and unsuccessful candidates

Spending time with our Sixth Formers and championing the benefits of continuing their time with Ada and completing an apprenticeship

To input and maintain client information on Ada’s CRM

To deal with clients in a professional manner always aligned to Ada’s values

Ensure service is prompt, polite and professional standards are kept

To collaborate with and support other teams across the College as required

Work with colleagues in the External Relations team to update and generate new content for the college’s website

Carrying out relevant processes to ensure Ada is compliant with relevant industry standards and relevant legislation

The Person

You’ll have experience of attracting and selecting entry-level hires into organisations and/or recruiting apprentices – for example advertising vacancies, matching candidates skills to vacancies and conducting interviews

Experience of apprenticeships  is an advantage, but not essential

You have demonstrable communications skills and are able to work effectively with people at all levels

You have experience of running assessment days (desirable, but not essential)

You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable manipulating CRMs and/or databases

You have a professional working ethos to effectively build business relationships with employers and candidates

You are organised and have strong time management skills

You are adaptable and patient, able to manage many priorities at once and resolve concerns with empathy and compassion

Ada was announced by the Prime Minister in December 2014; England’s first new FE College since 1993, we opened our doors at our main campus in Tottenham Hale for the first time in September 2016. The digital industry is experiencing epic growth but there is a talent shortage. Over 130,000 tech jobs are available each year in the UK but students are leaving education without sufficient knowledge and experience to get the job. We want to change this.

With Ada, students can learn relevant digital skills to pursue their dream job in tech. We are a unique community which puts computer programming at the heart of everything we do. Our students are the future game changers: challenging the norm, excited by change, and resilient in the face of adversity.

Location & Provision:

As of May 2021, we have 145 16-19 students enrolled, these students study the academically stretching BTEC in Computer Science along with a range of complimentary A-Levels.

Our Higher and Degree Level Apprenticeships in Digital Innovation (aligned to the Software Developer Standard) and Data Analytics and Visualisation (aligned to the Data Analyst Standard) have almost 200 apprentices enrolled from a range of organisations.

Our curriculum is academically stretching but practically rigorous and truly embedded with industry. Students are provided with a one on one coach from industry and employers help design and deliver our curriculum and careers advice. The positive impact to students and employers is demonstrable.

We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in just four years, we have had some fantastic successes and plans for more to come.
