Job overview

Are you a qualified social worker with extensive safeguarding experience who wants to further develop your skills within the field of education?  If so, due to a promotion an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the specialist and well-regarded Education Safeguarding Service.  You will act as an Area Safeguarding Advisor, working closely with school improvement colleagues, headteachers, senior leaders and early years’ providers to offer support, advice and challenge on all matters relating to safeguarding children.

The service has a long history of working collaboratively with other agencies and makes a significant contribution to the wider work of KSCMP and other organisations in raising standards of safeguarding within Education settings.?  The service also helps other agencies to gain a greater understanding of the statutory responsibilities of our education partners. The strong ethos of all those who work in the service means we will not compromise on children’s safety or welfare in any of the work we undertake.

Alongside statutory aspects of the role, the service undertakes other commissioned work including training and practice development. This involves preparing and delivering bespoke and core training for school leaders, governors and managers.  There are also extensive opportunities to undertake safeguarding reviews and management investigations when commissioned to do so by schools.

The post requires someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work under pressure. You need to be willing to learn and will be well supported in developing new areas of expertise.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

If you would like to discuss the post further please contact Claire Ray, Head of Service on 03000 415788.

Interviews will be conducted on 9 July 2021.
