The Trustees are seeking to appoint an ARP Teacher for Atkinson Road Primary Academy with effect from 1st May 2023 or sooner if available.

An ARP is an additionally funded specialist provision based in a mainstream school. It provides teaching and support staff with specialist knowledge, skills and expertise in a particular area of SEND.

The ARP in Atkinson Road Academy is an integral part of the school. Pupils will have specialist input from the ARP but will also participate in the wider life of the school with time in mainstream lessons appropriate to their need.

Atkinson Road Primary Academy, part of the Laidlaw Schools Trust, is a vibrant, warm and welcoming place catering for pupils aged two years to eleven years. We are unique in that we have children coming from countries all around the world to work, play and learn together and together we make our school an exciting place to be in the centre of our amazing Benwell community.

We are looking for someone with drive, passion and a desire for nothing but the best for our pupils.

The successful candidate will join a successful MAT where all Academies support each other to the benefit of our pupils and their families. Our Academies also enjoy strong support from an experienced LST central team, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
