ARP Teaching Assistant

Salary: Scale 4 (Actual Salary £19,853 - £21,364 depending on experience)

Contract Type: 35 hours per week, term time only (8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch)

Are you looking for a new challenge?  We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to our Additional Resource Provision (ARP) for pupils with autism. We are looking to appoint a TA who is enthusiastic, motivated and determined to make a difference to our children’s lives.

We are a fully inclusive school, highly regarded for our work with SEND children.  The ARP TA will need to keep pupils on task, maintain good order in the classroom, as well as maintaining the health and safety of the pupils.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a very good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths) 

• Have NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) 

• Be dedicated to the development of children with special needs

• Have good classroom and behaviour management skills 

• Work with a genuine child-centred approach

• Be able to work as part of a team, yet at times take initiative and work without close direction or supervision

• Be extremely patient, adaptable, willing to listen and have a good sense of humour
