Barnet and Southgate College is a highly successful Further Education college with around 16,000 students of all ages from 14 years upwards.

We are looking to recruit an outstanding and enthusiastic Course Leader and Art & Design lecturer to join our Creative Industries Department at Barnet & Southgate College.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching Art & Design across levels 1-3 and be able to demonstrate a broad range of two dimensional and three dimensional skills.

The course leader role involves managing the process of student recruitment, curriculum planning, assessment of student work, feedback to students, monitoring student progress, managing student records, internal verification / standardisation, student achievement and all associated administration. This position involves being a personal tutor, delivering the pastoral and tutorial programme and guiding and advising learners on appropriate career progression. 

Candidates will need to be competent in the use of ILT to enhance learning both in and out of classes and be expected to have a strong understanding of the importance of integrating employability skills together with English and maths.  We require someone with excellent teamwork and communication skills to ensure the duties associated with this post are met in full.  The successful candidate will have a UK recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, DTLLS or Cert ED or be working towards one and a degree in an Art & Design related subject.

This post based at our Wood Street campus, but the post holder will be required to work across the College’s five main sites or training venues.
