Corley Centre is a secondary special school for children with complex social and communication difficulties. A significant number of students have an autism diagnosis. Students present with a range of behaviours, vulnerabilities and challenges. Student attainment covers the full National Curriculum and GCSE range.
We are seeking a highly driven and creative, specialist Art and Design teacher to lead and teach Art and Design throughout the school and across the full ability range, including GCSE. You will be responsible for supporting one other teacher in delivering the subject, as well as teaching assistants. You will be required to promote a collaborative team approach to further develop a dynamic department, where students extend their abilities as a result of high quality staff input.
Candidates are sought who have aspirations to contribute to the wider life of the school.
Applications are welcome from teachers with experience in primary, secondary, mainstream or special schools. NQTs will be considered.
Experience of teaching children on the autism spectrum is an essential requirement.
