We are looking for an Art and Design Technician to provide support for three teachers in a busy and diverse department. You will have good communication and ICT skills, a knowledge of basic art skills, techniques and materials, great organisational skills, show initiative and enjoy working as part of a team.
The successful candidate will assist with the day to day working arrangements of the department and will be responsible for the care and maintenance of all working environments. Duties include coordinating and preparing materials and resources across all areas of the department including Fine Art and Ceramics, and the mounting and displaying of work in and around the department and in preparation for exhibitions. Administration duties will include stock control, processing orders and assisting in meeting the needs of students and staff.
A qualification in a relevant area of art and design and/or previous experience within an art department or a studio environment would be advantageous, as would familiarity with the practicalities of display and mounting work and ceramics. The department has a strong ceramic department, and the role includes the recycling of clay, glazing and firing student work.
