Job overview

Focus School Swansea is seeking to appoint an outstanding Art and Design Technology teacher to teach up to Key Stage 5 on a part time basis from September 2018. We are a small, successful Y3-13 mixed independent school with a strong Christian ethos located in Swansea, one of Wales’s biggest and most vibrant cities.

The school has undergone a rapid and sustained transformation in recent times and is a strong member of the OneSchool organisation (the largest body of independent schools in the world). We are at the cutting edge of technology and educational innovation and we place the success and happiness of our pupils, Self-Directed Learning and our unique and comprehensive CPD programme at the heart of all we do.

The school was judged to be “Good” in its most recent Eystn report. The school benefits from excellent teaching and support staff, well-behaved and engaged students and small class sizes.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding Art and Design teacher on a permanent basis, three days a week. The successful candidate will be an inspiring educator with an overt passion for their chosen subject and profession. You will have the ability to inspire pupils, engage with parents and direct other adults within your classroom. We welcome applications from candidates who are keen to join us on our journey to “Outstanding”.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged. For more information and to arrange a visit, please contact the Head Teacher on 01792 581221. To request an application pack please email flt.recruit@focus-school.com

Focus Learning Trust is committed to the welfare and safeguarding of children, and as such the post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

About OneSchool Global UK Swansea Campus

Welcome to OneSchool Global UK Swansea Campus. A school committed to the OneSchool Global vision.

Operating as a through school, from Years 3-13, we offer a balanced curriculum to ensure our students leave ‘well-rounded’, having achieved a quality education, are career-ready and in a position to maximise potential in their chosen work placement.

In 2015 we were privileged to be one of five Focus Schools to have a ‘Learning Centre’ installed, which has become a vibrant hub of the school day.

The self-directed learning concept has caused an incredible culture change in the environment of the school – driven, inspiring, creative, flexible, resultful – the students love it!

Strong links have been built with other Focus Campuses through delivery of subject lessons through Video Conferencing (VC).

Our aim is to reach to a level of ‘Excellence in Education’ through a cutting-edge delivery from our teaching team. We are confident the students will respond, so we are committed to ensure they have their own personal vision to ‘be the best they can be’.

Focus Learning Trust was established as a registered charity in 2003 for the advancement of education, primarily providing leadership and support to its network of 23 UK, non-selective, independent schools which are registered as schools with a religious character, following the national curriculum.

We are part of the OneSchool Global network – one of the most extensive and progressive networks of schools and educational support services in the world. With schools in 20 countries worldwide, our 9000 students are benefiting from the amazing results of global collaboration and cutting-edge educational methods.

In April 2019, the entire OneSchool entity rebranded globally, hence our new look and our name change from Focus School to OneSchool Global UK. This better reflects our teaching and learning strategy and makes us truly one global school.
