Wetherby School are currently looking for career minded, enthusiastic and inspirational Art teacher to join our team from January 2017 for one year in the first instance.

The successful candidate will work to develop and create an innovative, dynamic and high achieving setting. They will also need to interact and support children in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning. A willingness to contribute fully to the extra-curricular activities and life of the school is vital. Applications are invited from teachers who have excellent Art teaching skills and the dedication and enthusiasm to be part of a high achieving school. A recognised teaching qualification would be desirable. However this post would also suit an art graduate, or someone with a passion for art, who would love to teach art in a school environment.

Wetherby School is an Independent boys’ school (ages 2 ½ - 8) in Notting Hill with 340 boys. It is heavily oversubscribed and is extremely successful in securing pupils’ entry into the Preparatory School of their choice. It is part of the Alpha Plus Group of schools, which is one of the country's leading educational groups.

Wetherby School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

The Alpha Plus Group has its own salary scale, which is above the Central London Maintained Scale. A salary from £32,000 upwards, commensurate with experience and qualifications will be offered to the successful candidate.

About Wetherby School

Wetherby School is based in Kensington and Chelsea, London. The independent pre-preparatory school admits boys aged 4-8. There are currently around 360 boys enrolled in the school, which occupies a listed townhouse.

In 2002, the school became part of the Alpha Plus Group. It was founded in 1951 and moved to its current location in 1971.
