The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle has a growth plan for Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust to serve South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham, with a total of 34 schools in the Trust by July 2022. 

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust was established in February 2016, currently there are twenty-nine schools within the Trust with a schedule of additional schools joining each term. The details of each of the schools currently within the Trust can be found on our website www.bccet.org.uk

At St. Anthony’s we aim to deliver world class education. Our school is a Roman Catholic academy with 1350 students aged 11-18 years and founded upon the Mercy tradition. We wish to appoint an excellent Art Teacher. Our workload charter sets the tone for what we stand for as a Trust and sets out our commitment in relation to staff workload and wellbeing. This supports our overall mission of creating: Better Schools, Better Communities and Better Futures in Christ. 

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust safeguards and protects its students and staff by being committed to respond in accordance with South Tyneside Child Protection Procedures. Enhanced DBS checks are mandatory for all school staff.

Salary: Band 1 – Band 3 (main and upper)

Start Date: 1st September 2022

Contract: Whole time, permanent

St Anthony's Girls' Catholic Academy is an academy school based in Sunderland for girls aged 11-18. It is a Roman Catholic school.

The school was established in 1904 and moved to its current site in Thornhill Terrace in 1939. Its sixth form was opened in 1921. In 1999 the school achieved technology college status and in 2009 added languages to its specialisms. The school achieved academy status in 2012 and is a member of the SSAT (Specialist Schools and Academies Trust) Leading Edge Partnership. There are also three school chaplains who are available at the school every day.
