The Royal School is seeking an innovative Teacher to join the Art Department from January 2018 in this heavily oversubscribed free school. Art and Design is a popular subject across the school and is currently oversubscribed at GCSE, the uptake at A Level is also impressive. The ability to teach a wide range of abilities from ages 11-18 is therefore essential as well as the ability and enthusiasm to teach across the Art disciplines with a flair and passion for the subject is crucial as well as flexibility within the department.

The Art Department strives for the highest standards of learning and teaching which is evident in the impressive KS4 and KS5 results which last year exceeded national averages. Our students participate in a balanced, practical-driven KS3 programme before choosing GCSE options where Art, Craft and Design is the course on offer. Students opt for many of our Art based extended day activities, which range from traditional Art club, Mural painting, 3D modelling club and at GCSE and A Level many students choose to follow extra-curricular Art.
The Royal School is at an exciting time of development. The new free school is an all-through (Reception to Y13) ‘independent’ school without day fees whilst still providing excellent boarding for 130 pupils at affordable fees. Alongside the growth in pupil numbers, there will be an expansion in the curriculum, enrichment activities and improved facilities, enabling us to extend and enhance still further the range of opportunities for all our young people.

The Royal School Wolverhampton is a co-educational, all-through free school based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, for students aged 4-19. The school is non-selective and non-denominational.
The Royal School was founded in 1850 as an orphanage by a local philanthropist and businessman, John Lees.
Boarders can join the school from age 10 upwards and stay in one of its single-sex boarding houses. Boarding accommodation is in spacious and well-equipped 25-acre grounds surrounded by woodlands, offering a secure and peaceful environment with the convenience of an urban setting.
