CATS College Canterbury are currently recruiting for an Art Technician to join the Art Department. To be successful in this role you will have a passion for Art coupled with an Art Degree or experience of working within an Art Department. You will be able to work effectively with colleagues and students, with impeccable organisational skills and a friendly and approachable manner.


OVERVIEW OF THE JOB

You will be a member of the art faculty. Your role will be to support teachers in the preparation and delivery of art lessons for all programmes of study.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

 - Provide timely and effective preparation of materials for lessons through regular liaison with teaching staff.


- Ensure that the correct stock levels are maintained, purchasing items as required.


- Make recommendations to the Curriculum Director about the purchase of apparatus, equipment, and stock.


- Provide technical support for A Level, IB, UFP, Pre and GCSE students engaging in practical project work.


 - Ensure that the relevant Health and Safety Regulations and Codes of Practice are complied with for the safety of staff and students.


- Make up and prepare special examination equipment as per exam boards’ instruction, liaising with the subject teacher.


- Set up practical examinations for A Level, IB, UFP, Pre and GCSE exams as required by the subject teacher. 


-  Ensure materials are stored correctly for health and safety


About the College

CATS College Canterbury is a coeducational independent boarding school catering mainly for international students aged 14+. The College specialises in preparing students for pre-university exams, including I/GCSEs, A Levels, the International Baccalaureate (DP) and the University Foundation Programme (UFP). The College was awarded ‘Excellent’ in all nine areas in the latest ISI inspection (March 2016). There are approximately 400 students on roll, class size average is nine across all programmes, and students take part in an extensive range of extra-curricular activities including leadership awards and national/international competitions. The College is part of the CATS Colleges Group.

You will be directly responsible to the Curriculum Director – CD English, Languages and Art.
