King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college, operating within the further education sector. We require a part-time (14 hours per week) art technician to start on 4 January 2021. This is a maternity leave cover expected to last until October 2021. The weekly working days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Working as part of our creative and highly collaborative visual arts team, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of the various art studios and textiles workshop. The art technician will work on organising and ordering resources, advising students on practical tasks and providing technical assistance to staff and students as needed. In addition, they will assist with mounting work for exhibitions and co-ordinating and updating the display areas around the college site. The role will involve keeping accurate written records of stock-taking, requisitions and expenditure. This is a vital role within a thriving, forward-thinking and collegial visual arts team.
The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training.
This is a fixed term, part-time, term time only post with up to 6 extra contractual days (which will be paid separately), subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association. Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale, grade 3 – 7 (currently £5649.33 - £6155.09 TTO based on 14 hrs per week). The working pattern will be decided in consultation with the successful applicant.
