Pay Range: NJC Grade 3 Points 3 to 4 £18,562 – £18,933

Actual Salary: £14,399 - £14,677 (including Crawley Weighting)

Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week TTO + INSET starting at 8:30am to 3.30pm each day with half an hour unpaid lunch break

Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking for a part time Art Technician who can join us as soon as possible to provide technical and administrative support to the Art department. Applicants should have some artistic and technical capability including a working knowledge of ceramics and an interest and experience with dark room film processing and digital photography software such as Photoshop would be desirable.

Duties will include display work, preparation of lesson materials, assisting with practical demonstrations; supporting students under the supervision of the teacher; maintenance of practical rooms and resources, etc.

Previous experience of working in a similar role and environment is preferred but not essential. Applicants must have good qualifications at least to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Art, English and Maths and good written English. It is essential that candidates provide evidence of artistic and technical capability in their application and at interview. This is an ideal post for applicants who have the relevant technical skills and experience of working with young people or for those with the skills who are considering a career in teaching.
