The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced arts and events lead technician to join our creative and performing arts department.
The successful candidate will work alongside our other arts and events technician to share the workload in this busy role and to strengthen the creative and performing arts team. The technicians are responsible for all technical aspects (audio, visual and presentational) for curricular and co-curricular events and performances as required by the school. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a thriving school and contribute to the significant amount of shows, concerts and events organised in the busy school calendar, alongside day to day support for teaching departments, information evening assemblies and exams.
You will be responsible for providing technical support for classes in music and drama; supporting with staging construction, conducting recordings (audio and visual) and organising a student technical team.
This role also carries an extra responsibility allowance as lead technician which includes overseeing and allocating the work requirements of the team, managing the annualised hours efficiently and reviewing workload and progress.
Hours of work: The hours of work required are 1330 hours per year on an annualised hours contract, typically 8.30 am to 4 pm, Monday Friday, however there are requirements for the post holder to work flexibly during busy periods when events are on, which will involve working evenings and occasionally on a weekend. (This contract is therefore based on a typical 35 hours per week, term time plus 15 days to be worked in school holidays).
Salary: GS4 + M&L1 GSAL points 19-22 (£20,661 -£22,658 fte – Actual salary £17,204 - £18,867) plus M&L1 - £1044 p.a team leader allowance.
