VACANCY FOR AN ARTS SPECIALIST TEACHER AT WEST TOWN PRIMARY ACADEMY

Salary: MPS/UPS dependent on experience

Hours of work: 2/3 days per week

Are you a creative and inspiring primary practitioner?

We currently have a vacancy for a creative arts specialist to continue the development of our creative arts provision throughout our primary academy. You will be accountable for the planning and delivery of your subject specialism within the academy and will provide guidance and support to other teachers where needed. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is a skilled arts practitioner and who wants to contribute to our drive to ensure a high level of achievement by the children.

We would welcome applications from candidates with strength in music, dance, or drama – or perhaps a combination of all 3!

The Opportunity 

  • Teaching music, dance, or drama across the primary phase
  • Teaching alongside the staff to develop their knowledge and skills
  • Developing extra-curricular opportunities in music, dance, or drama
  • Nurturing talent and finding opportunities for performance and development


The ideal candidate

  • Has the knowledge and skills to develop the arts curriculum to a high level
  • Is enthusiastic about giving children the opportunity to develop their skills to a level beyond that of normal primary expectations
  • Has a proven good record as classroom practitioner in their specialist area
  • Is willing to lead extra-curricular opportunities and opportunities for performance


This role is for a part-time teacher, but the number of days has been left open for discussion depending on the ideal candidate. This post does not have a class responsibility but has teaching commitments across the primary phase.
