The Post

This role includes providing advice, lead training and providing resources for staff who support young people with a diagnosis of autism and attending secondary mainstream schools across the borough. Please be advised, this is a part time role in line with teacher’s pay and conditions.

You will also be providing information and signposting for those accessing the team and working in partnership with parents, voluntary and statutory agencies.

The Person

We are looking for are someone who has:

  • Significant recent experience of supporting a range of students on the autism spectrum in secondary mainstream schools.
  • Knowledge of a range of strategies and interventions to support autistic students attending mainstream secondary schools..
  • Has high expectations for children and young people to achieve.
  • Experience of planning and leading training sessions with staff.
  • Experience of effective working with other agencies.
  • Competent computer and written skills.
  • Enthusiasm, open to learning, creativity, a positive disposition and a sense of humour.
  • Ability to manage your own time, proactive and adaptable in your practice.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to be part of a team.
