We are recruiting an Assessor of Brickwork to join our excellent Technology Department at Derby College. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your specialist knowledge and prepare our apprentices for the next phase of their lives. You will be joining an experienced, forward-thinking and vibrant department that has a clear focus on the apprentice learning experience and seeing them achieve great results.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform role of assessor in accordance with awarding body guidelines and occupational assessment strategy and comply with quality standards and procedures and relevant funding organisation guidance
- Deliver training (1-1/group) as and when required and evaluate the effectiveness of all training
- Support the wider construction trades in improving learner opportunities
- Motivate learners and provide regular support and guidance to learners and record as appropriate
- Build relationships with local employers
Qualifications:
Essential
- Level 3 qualification in subject area
- Level 2 English and maths
- Full driving licence and transport
Desirable
- V1 award (D34) or willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years of start date
- A1 award / TAQA Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent (e.g. TDLB units D32 and D33) or willing to work towards
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent, or willing to work towards
- Level 2 IT

About Derby College
Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
