Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities  Trainer/Assessor duties:

 • Working with students to assess knowledge and performance on College and/or employer premises. 

• Work with college staff to develop and deliver flexible programmes to meet identified needs.

 • Assist in the monitoring, review and evaluation of provision in line with the College’s Quality Assurance procedures.

 • Undertake the enrolment, registration and if required the initial assessment screening of students. 

• Assist with the marketing and promotion of college programmes as required. 

• Fulfill the role of the internal verifier if required, including the training, development and supporting assessors. 

• Complete detailed records of student’s achievement and success. • Manage a case load of students throughout the duration of their course (caseloads will be determined by the Faculty Head)

 • Report to the Assistant Faculty Head on students progression, achievement and success as and when required.

 • Liaise and work with exams administrators as and when required to ensure date processing requirements are fulfilled. 

• Attend regular standardisation meetings in accordance with the college’s quality assurance policies. 

• Use the college e-portfolio systems and meet audit targets for reviews, site visits & target setting     Advanced Technician duties:  

• To keep workshop clean and tidy and ensure standards of hygiene are met and maintained • To assist lecturers in all practical classes

 • Be responsible for equipment, first aid requisites, fitting and consumables 

• Log all tools and equipment in and out of tool stores

 • To repair and maintain machines and tooling

 • Keep inventory and stock of all tools and equipment

 • To check that all equipment is in a safe working order at all times

 • Liaise with curriculum staff in ordering tools, consumables, equipment and keep accurate budgetary records 

• Develop work areas and experiments for students use

 • Maintain work areas and experiments 

• Plan and progress a series of jobs, keeping the line manager informed of activity • Attend and contribute to the section meetings • Prepare practicals for classes as requested by teaching staff 

• Work in other trade areas for the effective support of students and cover for absent colleagues • Maintain high standards of health & safety in own work and in the workshop area
