The Heritage Centre is situated within the grounds of Denstone College. Created in 2023, it is home to our extensive archives, spanning 150 years. We are now looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Archivist to join our friendly team and take responsibility for establishing digital preservation of our archives, ensuring that they are available to view for our pupils, parents, alumni and the local community. The role will predominately involve scanning documents and uploading them to a digital storage system before filing each item appropriately within The Heritage Centre.

Main duties will include: 

  • Setting up a new digital storage procedure for the Denstone College archives.
  • Building alumni profiles using information that we have on record, to be used as part of our exhibitions.
  • Cataloguing digital archives.
  • Filing archive material as appropriate, creating clear documentation to show where items are stored.
  • Participating in other activities, such as creating content for our 150th celebrations.
  • Uploading relevant information to alumni database.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested.

Preferred skills and experience;

  • Data entry experience.
  • High levels of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of data security and data protection.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Enthusiasm to learn new skills.
