Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to build on St Edward’s long-established national reputation for rowing, and play a part in a thriving Boat Club.

Rowing is very popular at St Edward’s, with a number of pupils competing at numerous heads and regattas throughout the year, including the Schools’ Head and National Schools Regatta. In this role, you will undertake three distinct responsibilities to support the school’s rowing provision. As Rowing Coach, you will take a lead role coaching a squad of junior rowers. As Boat Club Administrator, you will assist the Master in charge of Rowing with the administration of the club. As Assistant to the Head Boatman, you will assist the Head Boatman in all aspects of the running and maintenance of the boathouse, grounds, coaching launches and fleet of racing boats.

Previously this has been a developmental position and previous post holders have moved to take on significant roles in other clubs. It is anticipated that the selected candidate will have ambitions to follow a similar pathway. The wide-ranging set of responsibilities over time provides experience in all aspects of Boat Club management and operations.

If you have experience in both sculling and sweep oared boats with excellent organisational and administrative skills and are BR registered with a BR coaching qualification we would be delighted to hear from you.
