Sevenoaks Preparatory School is a mainstream, non-selective, independent school for pupils aged 2-13. The school’s two main sections are the pre-prep, for pupils aged two to seven, and the prep, for pupils aged 8-13. The pre-prep contains the school’s registered Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting for children aged two to five.

Sevenoaks Preparatory School was founded in 1919, becoming an educational charity in 2003, under a governing board who act as trustees. It is set in 20 acres of wooded countryside, which provide sports and recreational facilities.  In 2013, the school embarked on a ten-year redevelopment plan, which included a new sports pavilion, increasing funding for bursaries and adding a multi-purpose Astro Turf pitch.

The academic curriculum is enhanced by additional activities, including debating and critical thinking.

Values and vision

Sevenoaks Preparatory School’s ethos is based on providing strong pastoral care and supporting both pupils and parents. The values of the Pre-Prep and Prep schools, known respectively as the “Golden Rules” and “The Way of Life”, have common themes based on working hard, behaving responsibly and treating other people with consideration and respect.

ISI

“The school is successful in meeting its aims and accords strongly with its ethos of care for the individual child and their family. A good quality educational experience is offered to all pupils. Throughout the school, pupils’ achievement is good; in the EYFS it is outstanding. These standards are due to the pupils’ highly positive attitudes to learning.”
