The Assistant Business Manager provides executive level support to the College Business Manager in the business, strategic and financial operations of the College. The Assistant Business Manager will have the ability to manage and perform a variety of delegated responsibilities that are complex and specialised in accounting and administrative practices, they will be have the ability to problem solve in an environment of limited time constraints and with direction. The Assistant Business Manager operates within the Catholic educational environment and culture and this requires an astute awareness of the role holder. The employee in this position will be required to work with a high level of autonomy. The Assistant Business Manager is supportive of the Catholic ethos of the College and the strategic vision of the Principal and College Leadership team. Specifically, the role holder will demonstrate a high level of competency in dealing with matters of a confidential nature, have the ability to establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support the operational and strategic needs of the College. The Assistant Business Manager will provide advice requiring knowledge of policies and / or the interpretation of rules or regulations within their area of operation. Assist in developing policy and procedures relating to their work area. The successful applicant must have at least 5 years demonstrated experience in finance and administration services, an advanced understanding of GST and accounting procedures and previous experience in an executive support role within the educational environment is preferable. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new and complex data base systems is essential to this role.

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):  

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   38 Hours per Week Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   Level SO5

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
