About St Fidelis Catholic Primary School

St Fidelis Catholic Primary School is a voluntary-aided Roman Catholic primary for three- to 11-year-olds, located in Erith, Kent.

The school is built on ground that was once the orchard of the Franciscan Friars. It has its own chaplains, who come from the friary to celebrate liturgies with the children and attend special assemblies; they are also available for Reconciliation.

St Fidelis Catholic Primary School operates a two-form entry system, accepting a total of 60 children to each year group.

Values and vision

St Fidelis Catholic Primary School aims to produce well-rounded children. It encourages pupils to develop a spiritual relationship with God.

Teachers aspire to ensure children leave as articulate young people, able to give their own point of view but also listen to others. The school encourages children to be well-mannered and to show respect for all those who help them.

St Fidelis instils in pupils a genuine love and care for everyone, regardless of race or creed. It encourages relationships built on the foundation of the Gospel values of love, respect, hope and joy.

The school says its mission can be summarised in three key words: compassion, challenge and excellence. It aims to bring children to Christ through education.

Ofsted report

“High rates of attendance demonstrate the pupils’ enthusiasm for coming to this good and rapidly improving school. Pupils make positive comments reflecting the outstanding care, guidance and support they receive.”
