Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, passionate and inspirational Assistant Curriculum Leader for Science. Your role will be to help instil in our students a love for the subject and a desire to learn and succeed in Science.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to be a role model to other staff, embodying the professionalism, flexibility, resourcefulness, initiative, collaboration, and high expectations which we expect of all leaders at Churchill. The successful candidate will be expected to support the Curriculum Leader with driving change where change is needed and build on the excellent practice which already exists.

Our curriculum is ambitious and exciting with lots of extra-curricular opportunities. A significant number of our students choose to stay with us for post-16 study and our numbers for both A Level Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Applied science continue to grow.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our school and work alongside an incredible group of staff and a highly supportive governing body who will always go the extra mile for our students.

Churchill Community College is an 11-18yrs comprehensive school in North Tyneside.

Churchill is very much a community school, and whilst the community we serve is enormously proud and supportive of the school, a significant proportion of our students come from low income or deprived households, with more than 40% of our cohort eligible for the Pupil Premium.

We aim to make all our young people feel completely safe, secure, valued and appreciative of the many opportunities their education here can afford them.

We set high standards in all areas and expect the very best from all members of our learning community. In return, we aim to provide excellent teaching and up-to-date curriculum provision with high quality pastoral care and an outstanding range of opportunities beyond the classroom for all learners. We believe these are the hallmarks of a truly successful school.
