We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Curriculum Leader of English to join an achieving department. We are a forward thinking school that aims to challenge and engage all students from Year 7 through to Year 11 and this is an exceptional opportunity to take on a key leadership role and build on standards that have already been achieved. We continue to strive for improvement within English and last year achieved our best results ever with 78% A* - C. 85% of students making expected progress and 37% made more than expected progress.

English benefits from being suited in a relatively new building with new furniture, text books, technology and climate control in all classrooms. You will become part of a highly supportive English Team, with good/outstanding teachers within an outstanding working environment; benefiting from up-to-date technologies that support the delivery of high quality teaching and learning. We have strong systems in place to support new colleagues into the profession and are committed to developing good pedagogical practice through effective CPD and mentoring.

About Hartshill Academy

Hartshill Academy is a secondary academy in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, for pupils aged 11-16.

Hartshill Academy is set in extensive grounds and the catchment covers very diverse urban and rural areas. This is a very exciting time for Hartshill Academy as we prepare for the move to our new building in September 2023. We are very fortunate to be one of the 50 schools chosen nationally as part of this project and we are all looking forward to the new opportunities this will bring.

Although leaders’ ambitions have not been fully achieved, pupils say that there is an increasingly positive environment in which to learn. Pupils are well supported to gain insight into a broad range of work and employment opportunities.”
