Job overview

Do you have a knack for encouraging new sporting adventures? We’ve got great facilities, and a school full of young people who need you to inspire a love of sports (from table tennis through to athletics, cricket to volleyball!)

The role and what we are looking for

This is an ideal opportunity for somebody keen to embark on a middle leadership role. We are therefore looking for an outstanding, flexible practitioner with drive and commitment and an unrelenting focus on the progress of all of the students in the Academy. We require a teacher and leader with passion for their subject and a keenness to support the department's Curriculum Leader, developing excellent teachers. We are also seeking a candidate who is keen to offer the best opportunities for students to experience both in and out of school.

We need someone who will set high expectations, inspire students to love learning, and challenge our young people to think in new ways. You must be willing to model and support the Oasis ethos.

This role is essential in the development of the Academy as it grows in size, year on year, to eventually house 1500 students.

Our Academy

We are a secondary school in Oldham, Greater Manchester that opened in 2018 and are dedicated to supporting our young people to reach their potential. We leave no child behind; our progress data is incredibly strong and it is attributed to the hard work of our staff and students. We work together, sharing this educational journey with a common goal - develop happy and successful leaders who are culturally enriched role models in our community. Being part of the Oasis Community Learning multi-academy trust, we benefit from support and sharing of best practice from our regional schools, Regional Director and wider Oasis family.

We opened the Academy in temporary accommodation in 2018, with just 230 students across two year groups. In November 2020 we moved into our new, permanent home, which is a state of the art building that sits on the old Breeze Hill School site located on Roxbury Avenue, just off Lees Road in Oldham. We currently serve 1000 students, after we welcomed 300 Year 7s into the Academy in September 2022. We will at full capacity, with 1500 students, by 2024-2025. We are a school of choice within Oldham and are oversubscribed each year.

Our offer to you

When you join the Oasis family there are a number of offers you’ll receive that make us stand out as an employer of choice. These include but are not limited to:

• Clear career progression

• Comprehensive training opportunities

• Reduced workload through the Oasis curriculum resource bank

• Trust-wide opportunities to make an impact through National Lead Practitioner incentive

• Integrated support
