We require an exceptional leader and creative teacher to join our successful PE department.

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist the CTL (Curriculum Team Leader) in leading the department.
  • Assist in developing a curriculum which challenges inspires students.
  • Lead the department, with the CTL, to achieving even higher rates of attainment and progress.
  • Assist in the development of a broad and successful extra-curricular offer.
  • Play a full and active role in the continual development of outstanding teaching and learning in PE.

The candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • Passion, enthusiasm, ambition and the determination to achieve the very best for our students.
  • Exceptional subject knowledge in PE.
  • A commitment to the school and the department’s vision and policies.
  • A track record of consistently high quality teaching.
  • High impact on student progress and attainment.

About Little Ilford School

Little Ilford School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-16 secondary school, situated in the London Borough of Newham. The school, which was founded in 1957, has 1,500 students on roll.

Little Ilford School is part of the Manor Park Schools Community Partnership, along with most of its partnership primary schools, and is a Lead Practitioner Learning Centre for the SSAT.

Founded in 1957, Little Ilford School is a successful mixed multicultural 11-16 secondary school with 12 forms of entry situated in the London Borough of Newham.

We are a high achieving school described by Ofsted as good in their last inspection in 2022. We are a proud, diverse and celebratory institution that enjoys an excellent reputation and strives to be an outward facing school working closely with our community.

We are culturally rich with an ethos based around praise, support and caring for each other. Most of our students begin at LIS well below national standards but achieve in line with, or exceed, national standards when they leave in Year 11; our students achieve well above national rates of progression. We expect all of our students to excel.
