Job overview

Join us on our journey in making Every School a Great School

CSET is committed to equal opportunities and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and communities, as we recognise the importance and benefit this has for our pupils.

Roles such as this do not come along that often.

Covid has impacted in a variety of ways, no more so than upon our most vulnerable pupils. We are looking for a one of a kind individual who is committed to improving the quality of education our SEND students receive.

Here at The Castle School Education Trust (CSET) we are on a journey to making each of our schools a great school. We are a progessive and agile workforce that are looking for an ambitious and inspirational individual. We need someone who is keen to make the most of this opportunity, who can motivate but also be able to demonstrate true leadership when resilience is required.

Situated in leafy South Gloucestershire, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped into a Hardy novel but less than 25 minutes away you are in the heart of the cosmopolitan vibrancy of Bristol City Centre

The Person

We are looking for an exceptional individual who has led improvements in the quality of provision for children with SEND and/or disadvantaged pupils in their own setting and is passionate about sharing their expertise across the Trust.

This is an unparalleled opportunity to make a huge contribution to the educational provision of the Trust, developing the strategy for driving improvements in outcomes alongside two additional newly appointed Assistant Directors of Maths and Literacy.

As this is a new role you will have full scope of making this role what it needs to be. So we need someone who is passionate about leading on curriculum progression and can be creative in how that looks.

You will be able to build viable relationships across the Trust and be able to identify motivators so as to be an authentic influencer.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Strategy for Curriculum, Teaching & Assessment, the role will provide a rare career opportunity for the post holder to demonstrate their impact on 5000 pupils in seven schools.

You will be responsible for developing the Trust strategy for improving the attainment of SEND pupils and lead the SENCO community in becoming the experts in their field.

We offer a competitive salary and a range of attractive benefits. If you are interested, please send your CV and a cover letter setting out how you meet the requirements of the role, to cset-recruitment@cset.co.uk

Closing Date: 19th April 2021

Interview Date: 29th April 2021

Location: Mangotsfield School, BS16 9LH

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Director of Strategy, Dr James Richardson: james.richardson@cset.co.uk

Safeguarding Statement

CSET is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates are subject to child protection screening appropriate to the post, which will include an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check for the children’s workforce and a Children’s Barred List check.
