ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SPORT IS REQUIRED FOR THE KING’S SCHOOL, WORCESTER
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational sportsperson to join the Sports Department at this leading academic day school.
The Sports Department at The King’s School upholds an aspirational and inspiring vision of sport and physical activity. Working with a highly talented and experienced team of teachers and coaches, the two Assistant Directors of Sport work closely with the Director of Sport to deliver this vision and thus play a vital role in both the curriculum and co-curriculum sporting provision.
The department is comprised of the Director of Sport and six full-time teachers and some thirty coaches, many of whom hold teaching roles in the school. The department has two Assistant Directors of Sport, one of whom has particular responsibility for Hockey, Netball, Athletics and Tennis. It is envisaged that the successful candidate would take responsibility for Rugby, Football, Cricket and Swimming. The school runs a highly successful Rowing programme and, whist this is led by a team of experts, we expect the successful candidate to foster close liaison and partnership.
The department operates a full, six-day sporting programme and enjoys an enviable record of sporting excellence, competing nationally in the major sports. Maintaining and enhancing this strong reputation will be a priority for the successful candidate and we are seeking a teaching professional with considerable ambition and drive.
The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the life of the department and in the wider extra-curricular activities of the school.
