Job overview

Assistant Examinations Officer (Part-time)(2 days per week, Term time + an additional 3 weeks, 41 weeks per year)

The Skinners’ Kent Academy is expanding its support of its exam provision, due to an increased number of qualifications on offer. The Academy is looking for a Part Time Assistant Examination Officer to work 2 days per week 0.4FTE. The successful candidate would also need to be available for 4 full weeks over the months of June/July to lead on Year 10 and Year 12 PPEs (Pre-Public/Internal Examinations)  This role will support our Exams Officer who works in a hybrid manner both in the Academy and remotely.

The role is ideal for someone looking for a part time position, who is willing to work flexibly across the year and may suit someone who wishes to become more fully involved within education as a first step into the sector.

The position is 14.8 hours per week over a 41-week year, however there will be some weeks where hours are reduced in order to accrue, so that the successful candidate is available to lead on our internal examinations during the summer term (June/July), during which period, the successful candidate will be required to work full time.  There will also be opportunity for increased hours as part of our invigilation team.

This role is incredibly varied with working hours spread flexibly across the Academy year, rather than set each week and would suit a candidate equally flexible in their approach and with their availability.

The Skinners’ Kent Academy Trust is an equal opportunities employer, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants are subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check and satisfactory employment references.

Please note we reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Pupils show kindness and consideration to each other because they want everyone to feel included. A strong pastoral provision in every key stage means that pupils feel well supported and have someone to go to if they need help. Should bullying happen, pupils know that staff will help them resolve issues quickly. Relationships between staff and pupils are nurturing and positive. This means that pupils feel safe and well looked after.
