GEMS Royal Dubai School is looking to appoint an inspiring and passionate individual to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a significant role in raising standards and inspiring students and colleagues. This postholder will play a significant role in developing our Arabic and Islamic curriculum leaders, in addition to some teaching across Arabic and / or Islamic.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader, self-motivated, have proven success in driving standards and be committed to the pursuit of excellence for all.

Job Purpose:

To lead the continued development of Arabic and Islamic aligning to our school vision. This is an exciting opportunity for a Leader with a successful track record of outstanding teaching and leading curriculum change.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Effectively develop, line manage and hold Curriculum Leaders to account ensuring that the highest of professional and academic standards are achieved in relation to national and international benchmarks.

• To drive and effectively support leaders to develop and enhance the teaching practices of others by observing, modelling, team-teaching and offering guidance – supporting teachers’ professional growth from their own starting points to the required standard.

• To ensure CLs are leading and driving the MER process accurately, evaluating the quality of curriculum and L&T and define next steps for improvement.

● To ensure effective PD is delivered to staff in order to improve professional skills and knowledge.

• To ensure focused action plans, linked to the SDP, continually drive standards and contribute to the schools Self Evaluation Form and other documents.

• Continually evaluate the content of the Arabic and Islamic curriculums and review their effectiveness in achieving the required standards, embedding strategies as appropriate to ensure there is a continuous drive for sustainable improvement.

• Ensure the assessment process is thorough, appropriate and rigorous and provides accurate data which drives standards in line with local and national benchmarks.

• To maintain and enhance the school’s relationships within the community and beyond, including playing a leading role in the joint working of the Ccuster, external organisations and participation in local and international events.

• To carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the CEO and Principal.


Developing self and others

• Deliver effective PD to staff to improve professional skills and knowledge.

• Support other members of the school’s team in planning and delivering whole school PD.

• To develop a structured programme of advice and support to improve practice, through a coaching and modelling approach.

• Establish and maintain effective and appropriate professional working relationships at all levels.

• Lead and support staff in developing and sustaining positive working relationships within and across phases.

• Lead and undertake subject level performance management reviews.

• Where appropriate, support the interview/selection process for teacher recruitment and ensure effective induction of new staff.

• Actively pursue your own professional development as a Senior Leader.
