Job overview

We are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time member of staff as Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for the wellbeing of learners across the Academy and positively impacting on their progress and attainment.

Applications are welcome from teachers whose practice is outstanding and who have experience both of leadership and class teaching across the Primary Key Stages, preferably, within a variety of settings.

The successful candidate will have very high expectations for pupil behaviour, learning and achievement.  They will ensure that children of all abilities, throughout the Academy, have the opportunity to reach their potential through an inclusive programme of support.

We should like this teacher to be ambitious both for our Academy and for themselves, bringing fresh ideas and objectivity, thus contributing to the further success of our Academy's vision.  In turn, this teacher will be fully supported in their career path.

Whilst this post will be non-class based, an element of teaching will be required.

It is essential that the Assistant Head can actively support the Christian ethos of our Church Academy and demonstrate our Christian values through their own relationship with members of the Academy community and the professional role model they present.

Visits are welcomed.

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2009.

The Diocese of Chichester Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). For further information about what is required in this process please go to www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check.
