We are a day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 4 and 19 years who all have a formal Autism diagnosis and either SLD or MLD. We are currently recruiting for an ambitious, passionate, and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our team at Tadley Court School. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previous experience within an SEN school, or qualified Teacher looking to take the next step in their career. This role can be for a September 2025 start or January 2026 start for the right candidate.

As an Assistant Headteacher you will need to:
  • Formulate the vison, ethos, and objectives of the school.
  • Play a leading role in the school improvement and school self-evaluation planning process.
  • Establish policies improving school organisation and effectives.
  • Manage staff and resources.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion within the school community where all views are valued and considered.
  • Leading on the pastoral, behaviour and attitudes and attendance aspects of the school
  • To be responsible for ensuring the strongest culture of safeguarding across the school, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • To lead on all Child Protection matters.
  • To be responsible for ensuring high standards of behaviour across the school.
  • To lead on our approach which uses school wide Positive Behaviour Support to ensure positive achievement for all students.
  • To be responsible for delivering high quality pastoral care and safeguarding across the school, setting a strong ethos and culture of respect in line with the aims of the school.
  • To be responsible for the effective deployment of Pupil Premium funding to ensure that educational gaps between PP and non-PP students are narrowed or eliminated.
  • Lead on developing and monitoring of the pastoral team in school.
  • Lead by example to motivate and work with others.
  • Monitor progress and achievement of all students.

Tadley Court School is a special school with an Ofsted rating of GOOD with Outstanding features. Our school is set in a beautiful semi-rural location with four acres of well maintained grounds. We are a day school specialising in the education and care of up to 65 children and young people between the age of 4 and 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. Our children and young people may also exhibit challenging behaviour associated with their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.
